Familial Mediterranean fever(FMF) is a recessive genetic desease.
Fmf is not a X-linked disease so its autosomal(chromosome that is not a sex-linked chromosome).
A gene called MEFV carries a genetic code for a protein called pyrin
FMF is more likely on males than females.
Diagnosis
If u have family history with familial mediterranean fever then your more likely of having the disease because the mutated gene is passed from parents to children.
The number of or attacks is different for everyone with Fmf.
Complications
A person with FMF is going to have painfull condition interfering with the flow of daily life.
The inflammation caused by FMF is going to affect your reproductive organs.
People with FMF have to take their medication on schedual .
Kidney filltering systems are damaged
-loss of alot of protein in urine
-blood clots in kidneys
-kidney failure
Women are less likely to get pregnant
